ABSTRACT

Advances in software like Photoshop and the web could make that more difficult—has already done so. The race to get things first often means getting things wrong. That will probably get worse in the future. Photographers have to dig in and make sure their work is truthful, even under the pressure of constant deadlines. The practice of photography will evolve with technology and how people consume visuals. The practice of photojournalism will become a rarer field of work, as there really are not many jobs left in daily newspaper/wire photojournalism. Most editors will assign things in your area when it comes down as an idea from their staff writers or editors, but they don't want to pay for something a photographer conceives of until that work is complete, which makes it tough for a photographer to make a living. But this doesn't mean everyone is a writer, nor a photographer.
