ABSTRACT

Computerised auscultation has shown that in stable patients with COPD, normal RS characteristics are similar to those observed in healthy people and adventitious RS are mainly characterised by inspiratory crackles and expiratory wheezes (Jácome & Marques, 2015). However, while in healthy people it is recognised that RS are affected by gender (Gavriely et al., 1995), in patients with COPD this is still unknown.
