Evaluation and analysis of water resources carrying capacity in arid zone–A case of Manas basin

Water has been the bottleneck restricting the development of a social economy in arid regions with growing populations. As the core factor of the socioeconomic activity scale, water is necessary for sustainable development. Therefore, the evaluation of the carrying capacity of the water resource in a particular area is an approach for the optimization of its utilization and helps to further socioeconomic development in arid areas.
