ABSTRACT
In the context of this chapter, ‘mixing music’ should be understood as the adjustment of some aspect of recorded audio to enhance the aesthetic of the end-listener experience. Although such mediation has its roots in the control of ‘live’ audio at the point of capture, in this text ‘mixing’ will only refer to retrospective adjustments of multitrack audio sources.
