ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts of key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book focuses on the oldest controversial innovations of the contemporary period, namely the nuclear power technologies which provide a rich historical insight. Many psychological and sociological surveys were launched within this frame, with the aim of analysing the conditions that could make the normalization of contaminated territories possible. Belarusian village was chosen for the deployment of the Ethos project precisely because it is part of the voluntary relocation zone. With the Sage project, for the first time Europe and no longer Belarus was the focus of attention. A rapid glance at the emergence of a variety of new projects and programmes in Belarus, in France and in Europe since the second half of the 1990s demonstrates the way in which participation of 'stakeholders' has gradually gained importance in post-accident management.
