ABSTRACT
The national security of a country is determined by an interplay of positive and negative developments in the external and internal security environments of the country. This overview will present a snapshot of these developments and their impact on national security in the period 2012-13. It will then focus on future challenges as perceived by eminent experts who have contributed to this volume.
