ABSTRACT
Japanese community is falling apart. It is facing two crises – the crisis of people’s loss of existential identity and the crisis of social integrity, caused by the combination of the following two problems: on the one hand, people feel their existence to be less stable and their reality as being shaken; on the other hand, the sense of values in society has become more diversified and fluid, with the result that social ties are fraying and social integrity is being lost.
