Mining involves different sequences of events, all of which include a different amount of labour with different qualities. The sequences start with the government’s preliminary assessment about which areas to open to mining. Then the mining companies will be involved in prospecting, exploration, development of the mine/well, production/exploitation and finally closure/decommissioning of the mine/well. Further, the mining company and/or the government will take post closure measures for monitoring the site.1
