ABSTRACT
The leader’s first task, at the beginning of any group, is to establish the group contract. Because group members often have no idea what is expected of them when they join a group, the contracting process offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with the leader(s) to develop a set of preferred behaviors that will inform and direct group participation.
