ABSTRACT
Daughter of film critic and director Chidananda Dasgupta, Aparna Sen is a leading Bengali film actor (who has acted in the films of Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen and Rituparno Ghosh), an editor of a popular women’s journal and an award-winning film director. She won a National Award for 36 Chowringhee Lane (1981), her debut directorial venture. Her most recent film, Arshinagar (The Mirror City), based on Romeo and Juliet, was released in 2015 December.
