ABSTRACT

I became a feminist by choice. I identified with the need for females to be in more equal balance with males. I felt an unbalance and inequality of things at an early age. At home, I was the youngest and the only girl of four children, having three older brothers, and elderly parents. I was treated different, having less freedom of expression, of choice, of actions, and significantly less power. I believed GOD created us (females, males) equally & to complement each other. Yet, the differences, favoritism, preferences, competitions, separation, privileges, sexism, and discriminations, were all present at home, church, school, cultural, social, economic, and political teachings. I resented this mode of thinking. I decided not to let it happen to me.
