ABSTRACT

The afternoon is hot. It’s about 30 degrees Celsius. The sky has turned thick with cloud as if a storm is brewing but the air is heavy and dry. From my experience of Adelaide summers, it is highly unlikely that relief will come in the form of rain. I’m sweating and my skin picks up dirt and dust from the roof tiles making my hands and feet red. Instead of making it easier to grip my bare feet slip on the tiles.
