ABSTRACT

We would like to thank Dr. Ofer Zur for asking us to contribute to this very valuable book. We were surprised that he asked us to write this chapter since we have often disagreed with him regarding how psychologists should manage duality in professional practice. That is not to say he is wrong and we are right; rather, the discussion about multiple relationships in professional practice has many gray areas that create forums for productive, though differing, debates regarding what is acceptable practice and what is not. Choosing us to assist in the writing of this book reflects his commitment to insuring that this volume is balanced and provides the reader with a fair and thorough discussion of this very important topic.
