ABSTRACT

While artists have been working cooperatively for centuries, recently their collaborations have become the subject of renewed scholarly interest. There has been an increase in the number of student collaborations and curricula focused on collaborative processes in college art programs. “In recent years the act of collaborating has been embraced by some as one way to shift the emphasis away from the individual to a more socially engaged form of practice” (Dunhill and O'Brian, 2005).
