ABSTRACT

How can we become more attuned to the patterns of human interaction that impact our organizations? The answer lies in a multi-level attunement called fractal relationality. Fractals are scalable, self-similar patterns that repeat with varying amplitude and timing. 1 By increasing our awareness of these kinds of patterns, we can improve our understanding of organization development and improve the quality of our decisions. This model is well suited to today’s organizations and operating environments, where the boundaries of systems are unclear and constantly shifting; the competitive environment is anything but static, both externally and internally; and social capital is every bit as powerful as formal authority.
