ABSTRACT

A messy title for this chapter, which would be unwieldy yet convey the thoughts and desires to be expressed in what follows might be something like Fight the Power? Read (Media), Write (Make or Play), Curate, Argue … (Double) Mediadapt, then Act (we hope): What counts for (digital) media education, how do we know and what do we do? Such a crazy description would ‘show the working’ of media education in the digital age. It signals a desire to break any ‘fourth wall’ for understanding digital media literacy education as a coherent paradigm. Always at the service of a horizontal discourse, where many owers continue to bloom, there’s little in the way of pedagogic consistency-an ever-incomplete project, for better or worse.
