ABSTRACT

Before considering the psychometric foundation for the Rorschach Performance Assessment System® (R-PAS®; Meyer, Viglione, Mihura, Erard, & Erdberg, 2011), it is important to consider why one would use the Rorschach task in an assessment. There are several reasons. Most importantly, the task provides a standardized, in vivo sample of problemsolving behavior in response to complex, feature-rich, evocative inkblot stimuli. Each of these elements will be elaborated in the following sections.
