ABSTRACT

This chapter understands the main factors of success. The selected cases are: the Metro Sul do Tejo (MST) in Lisbon, Portugal; the Transport sur Voie Reservee (TVR) in Caen, France; the Metrolink in Manchester, UK; and the Brabo1 in Antwerp, Belgium. To understand how the critical success factors (CSFs) are reflected in the case studies, a brief description of the four case studies regarding identification of stakeholders, along with the type of project and some basic information such as contract duration, contract Public Private Partnerships (PPP) model and budget, are presented. Then, in the context of ex-post analysis, the first step of this work was to identify the conflicts/problems that have occurred in all cases and the respective phase in which they occurred. Risk sharing and risk allocation are also addressed in this work. The chapter is based on research conducted within the framework of COST Action TU1001 Public Private Partnerships in Transport: Trends and Theory (P3T3).
