ABSTRACT
The electronics sector has emerged as big business for ASEAN, and its share in regional trade has been increasing. Given its size and linkages, the electronics sector generates a wide impact across the economy of ASEAN and so has an influence on the overall growth and trade of ASEAN. The electronics sector is, therefore, one of the eight priority sectors for integration among ASEAN countries, with a roadmap to establish the integration process including the elimination of tariffs and non-tariff measures among other measures (Austria, 2004; Parsons et al., 2007).
