ABSTRACT
I would like to finish this volume as Rosaleen Duffy began, with the assertion that this is a very important book. It is important for tourism studies no doubt, and a host of other disciplines besides. More importantly, in my opinion, it calls attention to the crucial importance of tourism as a key realm of expansion, and thus potential contestation, in contemporary culture(s) of capitalism. My goal in this afterword is to highlight that importance.
