Cheonggyecheon, a recently restored stream and greenway, cuts 5.8 kilometres across central Seoul and links the Dongdaemun History and Culture Park, Dongdaemun Market, the central business district, and Sejong Boulevard, facing Gyeongbok Palace. Cheonggyecheon is the centrepiece of urban development initiatives that aim to increase Seoul’s global competitiveness, encourage business investment and tourism, and increase quality of life and accessibility for a new generation of young urban professionals.
