Pages 21

The previous chapter touched on some of the material, institutional and intellectual legacies left by changes playing out in Latin America over the past few centuries. This chapter looks in greater detail at the period since 1980, marked by the accelerating movement and deepening penetration of capital, people, production and ideas across all kinds of boundaries, together with unique and unexpected responses to those forces.
