ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of learners who need to navigate the "chaos" of an ambiguous learning landscape. The chapter describes how they may need to continually refine their knowledge, skills, and attitudes as resilient learners to thrive in a rapidly changing world. It defines personalised learning and then examines a roadmap for personalised learning in an open world. Personalised learning is no longer about what the learner knows now, but concerns how the learner can learn more. Learners need digital literacies, an understanding of seamless learning, and also need to be aware of their own learning through self-regulated learning. Traditional on-campus learning involves the learner in formal learning spaces such as lecture rooms, tutorial rooms, and labs as well as informal learning spaces that would include areas like a library, learning commons, cafs, and other informal spaces for learning.
