ABSTRACT
Larger chainsaw sculptures are made from larger logs, and finished by hand. They are often made from sections of wood intended for firewood that are too knotted to split with an axe, the knot becoming the aesthetic focal point of the piece, suggesting the final shape. The final price depends upon the size. Popular shapes include toadstools, animal heads and birds.
