ABSTRACT

The intention of this volume was to explore, interrogate and expand understandings of the relationship between drama and social justice. At the time of proposing the volume, we felt that there was an assumed co-habitation that was largely reliant on personal beliefs and governing myths (Finneran, 2009) about drama practice in this area. We feel that this volume goes some way to achieving this intention. However we take this opportunity to remind readers that this volume is firmly situated in the field. It contains voices of drama practitioners, theorists and researchers – speaking to, for and about ourselves.
