ABSTRACT

Consultation can be de$ned as an indirect method of delivering psychological and educational services to children and by which the consultant works with a consultee or group of consultees (e.g., parent, teacher or other educational personnel) to help them work more e#ectively with an individual student (or group of students). Because the consultee has regular contact with the student, this is conceptualized as a potentially e%cient approach to service delivery that allows the consultant to reach a maximum number of students and emphasizes preventive services (e.g., see J. Meyers et al., 1979; Parsons & Meyers, 1984).
