Mindfulness: bringing body and breath to supervision

This chapter explores how supervisors can use mindfulness-based practices and a mindfulness-informed approach to address stress and increase compassion in supervision. I describe my own journey with Mindfulness, with examples from supervision and therapy practice, in which attention to the breath is used to connect mind, body and emotion. I also address the challenges of introducing the body into talking therapy and supervision and suggest alternative practices when focusing on the breath may not be helpful.
