chapter  11
Experimentation and the politics of justice in urban climate governance
Pages 15

In this book, we have developed and advanced a conceptual framework for understanding climate change experimentation. Viewing urban climate governance as conditioned through the pursuit of what Li (2007) has called the ‘will to improve’, we have shown how climate change experiments have come to be assembled, or made, through processes of problematization, alignment, rendering technical and rendering compelling; how they have (or have not) been maintained through processes of upkeep and metabolic adjustment; and how they have (or have not been) lived through processes of subjectification, contestation and resistance.
