ABSTRACT

Our chapter is entitled ‘Challenging students: enabling inclusive learning’ because we consider the idea of challenge from three perspectives: first, the diversity of the student population and how we might deal with the challenges this brings; second, how we as teachers can challenge students to be active and to engage with their learning; and, finally, how we can enable students to challenge us, themselves and the world beyond university, and to be thoughtful, independent, critical thinkers.
