WithTOSHIRO TAKAHASHI, DAISUKE KOIDE, MU-HO LIU AND TAKENORI AOKI

So far, this book has presented the proposition of [Insight 2] in Chapter 1, that “[t]he co-evolution model through collaborative innovation spanning various industries promotes the creation of win-win business models,” and the proposition of [Insight 3] in Chapter 2, that “[t]he process of [the] spiraling execution of exploration and exploitation centered on leader companies (or organizations) creates, grows and develops business ecosystems.” This chapter looks at cases of medical institutions in Canada that execute environment adaptation strategies as exploitations to adapt to changing environments, and that execute environment creation strategies as explorations to create new environments. This chapter also analyzes and considers the propositions of [Insight 5] in Chapter 2, that the “[d]ynamic consistency of boundaries between environments and corporate systems, and boundaries between the individual business elements within corporate systems builds ecosystems and achieves sustainable corporate development and growth.”
