Achieving Health Support Innovation in a Smart City Concept

WithNOBUYUKI TOKORO

The “smart city” is a new concept of urban infrastructure in which ICT, energy efficiency and electricity storage technologies are used to optimize the energy supply and demand while maximizing the use of renewables. For example, co-generation systems could use exhaust heat from food and plant production facilities to stimulate agricultural reform and other green innovations, while smart next-generation TVs and medical equipment at medical facilities and in people’s homes could be linked over a network so that the elderly can receive services such as medical care, health checks and catering in their homes. These lifestyle innovations could take place both locally and nationwide.
