In the third decade of the conceptual existence of a multidisciplinary team and ultimately the child advocacy center we are again talking about role conflicts. In the beginning, there was much concern about whether law enforcement and prosecutorial offices could successfully turn over the role of interviewing children to people who were not law enforcement personnel. There was no “team” concept, and services to abused children were adding to the trauma because of an often disjointed and repetitive process.
