Family Adjustment Issues
ByCheryl Buehler, Kamilah B. Legette
Pages 14

Families and schools are important microsystems for the developing child and the family-school interface is an influential mesosystem in the child’s life (Rogers, Theule, Ryan, Adams, & Keating, 2009). In this chapter, we focus on three aspects of family life that may influence how children and youth navigate their school experiences: cumulative family risk, family demography, and parental functioning.
