ABSTRACT
This survey, prepared by the Security Service of the Nazi Party (SD) under the direction of Reinhard Heydrich, was one of a series of reports on Jewish affairs written for top echelons of the Third Reich’s leadership. The stated purpose of the series was ‘to fi ght the enemy with passion but to be cold as ice and objective in the assessment of the situation and its presentation’.
