ABSTRACT
Anne de Marquets died, at the age of 55, on May 1 1, 1588, at the Dominican Priory of Saint Louis at Poissy. Little is known of her life before her arrival at the priory, where she was sent, in all likelihood, as a young girl of nine or ten; she must, however, have been bom around 1533, probably in Marques near Eu in Normandy, into a family of the provincial nobility.
