ABSTRACT

SUMMARY. This paper discusses the role of management education in the context of the continuing economic reforms occurring at this time in the People's Republic of China. Whilst there is a need for management education in all areas of business within the PRC, it is important to ensure that particular attention is paid to the unique needs of State-Owned and Foreign-Invested Enterprises. It is argued that one such way to incorporate the various influences Is through the multiple perspectives approach. In particular, the role of management education and the appropriateness of some teaching content is likely to be influenced by the unique histories of these two sectors, as well as by broader cultural influences common to both.
