ABSTRACT

The continued growth and expansion in the field of on-line legal information retrieval has raised questions as to how and to what extent these systems are currently being used. Additionally, questions have arisen as to the impact this use may have had on the role of the law librarian and on the general character of the law library. Earlier studies on this topic have suggested that in this rapidly changing field continued research is necessary in order to keep abreast of developments. 1 In response to this need, a survey was devised in which these issues would be examined.
