SUMMARY. There are many issues involved in implementing digital library development and many decisions to be made. Integrating digitization as a routine component of visual resources library operations provides many benefits. Naturally, there are costs too, but on the whole the balance 46comes out in favor of the benefits. It is useful to know what issues and decisions you need to be aware of for the smooth incorporation of the new technology.
