The Voice in Media
This chapter discusses both game and animation voice recording, for the simple reason that both of these forms are animated. However, when people begin recording for the worlds of game audio and animation, the terrain shifts, and they have to start thinking about new ways to go about their task. The chapter presents an overview of the entire game creation process, which is multifaceted and involves a large number of people and disciplines. Recording the voice for animation is similar to the process for games, but there can be some significant differences. The vast majority of voice recording for animation work is done in the controlled environment of the studio, it's worth noting that there have been some interesting experiments with recording voice lines for feature-film animation on location, as if the film were shot live-action.
