The Studio

A FEW SIMPLE TRUTHS No matter how you prefer your studio to be set up for a voice-recording session, there are some things that will not change, no matter how you set up the room. The physics of sound and the acoustics of the room remain a constant (see Chapter 3, Room Acoustics). The size of the room will certainly play a role in how your recording sounds and it cannot be changed (except by the addition of gobos and the like, or some other method of altering the shape and size of the space). How a microphone functions and how it captures and reproduces the sound remain constant, although microphone placement within the room can alter the sound and quality of the recording (see Chapter 4, Microphones).
