ABSTRACT
Alcohol and drug-use treatment providers serving American-Indian women have identified physical, sexual, and emotional abuse as the most frequently mentioned childhood life experiences reported by their clients. For adult experiences, the most frequent life experience was single parenting, followed by physical, sexual, and emotional abuse (CRHPR, 1995).
