Where Cartesians see a relation between minds and bodies, I see a relation between persons and bodies. Understanding ‘person’ to refer to entities like you and me, it is obvious that persons exist. And just as clearly there are bodies. So, the important philosophical question – whose answer cannot be read off neurophysiology or scientific psychology – is this: What is a person?
