ABSTRACT
Cannabinoids are derived from cannabis, which is commonly taken as a recreational drug. Although the pharmacological effects of cannabinoids are more likely to produce performance deterioration rather than enhancement, cannabinoids are one of the most frequently detected classes of drugs during doping control tests through World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) laboratories. It has been suggested by some that cannabinoids should be removed from the WADA Prohibited List. These issues will be explored within this chapter.
