Unraveling Projective Identification and Enactment

Prelude The concept of projective identification (PI) first appeared on my clinical horizon in graduate school during an introductory course to psychoanalytic theory and therapy. Later, while reading about Melanie Klein’s theoretical contributions to the analytic corpus of writings, the concept of PI further piqued my interest and curiosity. At that same time, as it was further elaborated, PI became further complicated in my thinking. Up to then PI remained, principally, a concept in my mind.
