Psychiatry in Thailand
Thailand is an independent constitutional monarchy located in Southeast Asia and covers an area of about 513,115 square kilometers or 198,114 square miles. In 2012 its population was approximately 67.5 million. The population is mostly rural, concentrated in the rice-growing areas of the central, northeastern, and northern regions. Moreover, as Thailand continues to industrialize, its urban population (which is 45.7 percent of the total population) is growing.
