ABSTRACT
The application of computers and the introduction of a commodity (or market) economy have accelerated computerization of accounting in China. This computerization, which took off in the 1970s, has entered a new stage and is now deemed such a critical aspect of accounting that large amounts of capital and human resources are being spent on its development. As a result, comparatively sophisticated accounting software and systems have been produced.
