ABSTRACT

The connecting link between validation and evaluation is, of course, the checking of the stated aims of the training process to ascertain whether they were based on real learning needs. The purpose of evaluation is to determine whether or not the objectives and content of training activities are consistent with the current needs of the organisation, if the objectives are being reached in the most effective and economical way and, if not, what changes should be made. The term evaluation should not be confused with the term validation'. Validation is a process carried out to see that the training given has been successful in achieving its aim. The collection of opinions to test the effectiveness of a training operation such as a management training course can be very useful if done properly, but the opinions of the managers or supervisors who are to control the training in the future must be included.
