ABSTRACT
The international oil price upturn over the past decade – until, of course, its sudden decline in 2014 and beyond – was instrumental in unlocking the oil resources of the Guianas by enticing international oil companies (IOCs) to prospect offshore despite operational and maritime border challenges. The explorations for commercial quantities appear rewarding.
