ABSTRACT
Szymanowski was involved in two projects involving incidental music for the stage: a pantomime, Mandragora, inserted into performances of Molière’s Le Bourgeois gentilhomme, and music for the play Kniaź Patiomkin [Prince Potemkin] by Tadeusz Miciński. In both cases, Szymanowski was prompted into writing by the stage director Leon Schiller.
