ABSTRACT

Turkey’s political system is a seedbed for corruption. In fact it is the expected outcome of this system. The operational mechanism of this political system leads to the continuous reproduction of corruption, where the politician stands in the centre of the mechanism and is looked upon as the decision-maker. But he does not stand alone. An arena of actors ranging from the media, the business world to the man on the street have benefited from the loopholes of this system, thus enabling corruption on different scales.
